Penelope Halliwell filled a small, black book with spells which she used on her daughter, Patricia, while she was a child. Penny later used the book on her grandchildren, Prudence, Piper and Phoebe, after Patty died and their father left. At the age of nine, Patty came up with a spell to reverse those from Penny's book.
