"With the right exposure, she could kick Dear Abby down into the bush leagues."
Jason Dean complimenting Phoebe Halliwell.[src]

Dear Abby was an advice column written by Pauline Phillips, and later her daughter, that began in 1956[1]. In 2003, Jason Dean, owner of The Bay Mirror, said to Elise Rothman that Phoebe Halliwell (writer of Ask Phoebe) could easily beat Dear Abby[2]. Not long after, Phoebe did some preliminary research for her syndication meeting and included Dear Abby, Ann Landers and E. Jean[3].
